Parts of a Whole: Nox Randall

Hello Alamo!

Because of my need for downtime (more on that later), I’ve been focused on interviews with the community.

I’m a bit in my era where I’m romanticizing things like community, small bits of joy, gratitude, etc. and my voice *is* important as someone who lives here, but to really make this a community blog, it needs the community’s voices too.

Though the interview with the troupe last week was several member’s collective voice, I was interested to see how this particular art medium and Rebel Music Theatre specifically has affected individual lives. First up, troupe member Nox Randall!

1. How long have you lived in Alamogordo?

I have lived in Alamogordo since 2012 on and off.

2. When did you get started in theatre? What drew you to it in the first place?

My first show was when I was 8. I was an extra in Alamogordo Musical Theatre’s 2014 production of “Annie”. When I first started, I didn’t really have an intention to stay in it. It was something to pass the time when I was younger. My mother was the one who insisted I be apart of the show, and I am so grateful that she pushed me towards the path of theatre, because now I have a family!

3. Out of everything you’ve done on- or backstage, what has been your favorite?

My absolute FAVORITE part of everything has been the people. Rebel is filled with so many new faces every show, so many new connections that can and HAVE been made.

4. Have you been involved in both productions of Broadway: No Rules?

Unfortunately, I had the intentions to do the first Rebel show but couldn’t due to life- BUT, i was very much a part of the most recent show “Broadway: No Rules.”

5. How does it feel to be a part of Rebel?

Being a part of Rebel is like having a huge family. I wouldn’t be the performer I am today without Jordynn and Rosie’s help. Rebel shows NOTHING but support to everyone a part of a performance; and even outside of the stage the support is still very active.

I do plan on sticking with the theme of joy and artforms and specifically theatre for a bit longer, but I have another big source of incidental queer joy that I would like to talk about on Saturday.

Until then,

Salud!
